Animal Education Program at IMHS
Did you know that in 2017 IMHS started a new series of FREE pet-related educational classes for our community? As part of our mission and vision statement, we strive to educate pet stewards in Park County and the surrounding communities, and that was a catalyst in creating this outreach series.
The series topics for this year include:
"What To Expect After Adopting"
"How To Pick The Perfect Pet For You"
"The Human/Animal Abuse Connection"
"Making End Of Life Decisions For Your Pet"
This entire program is sponsored by IMHS and various partners depending on the material. Administrators, Board Members and other instructors will be there to help facilitate and answer questions. The classes are free and stand alone so you can come to any or all in this 4 part series. No RSVP needed--just show up. Donation jars for IMHS and other sponsoring organizations will be available for those that wish to contribute.
The next class is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6th at 6pm. The topic covered in Part 3 of this series will be "The Human/Animal Abuse Connection." The class will be held at the Conifer High School Library and the course instructors will be myself and Lori Cuno, Executive Director from the Mountain Peace Shelter.
