Misc news--be in the know!

We apologize for not sending out a newsletter in October so this November one is extra jam packed with stuff. We are headed into the busy holiday season and our volunteers are strapped a bit thin. Can anyone help us finish off the year strong? We need at least 2 more folks in each committee of fundraising and marketing. We need help getting our calendar finished as well. We have a lot of events coming up and need folks to work the events and publicize them! (Please see our calendar page to see all that's coming up before the end of the year and there's even more coming!) We are still interviewing for the Executive Director position but it is going slower than expected. Biggest help in this r

Volunteer of the month--Terry Knapp!

Terry Knapp is one of our young volunteers who started at IMHS this summer. Terry is a 15 year old, 10th grader at Conifer High School. He has 2 older brothers, one at Conifer High and the other is in the Air Force currently deployed, Our best wishes go out to him. He also has a very cute younger sister at West Jeff Middle School. She comes to the shelter with Angela, their mother, to pick up Terry. I am hoping when she gets old enough she, too, will join us for volunteering. Terry helps take care of feeding the d

For those dog lovers who have found themselves in this situation, we all know it’s not easy. After a couple of months of tortured loneliness, Border Collie puppy Max was adopted as the latest family member, and was good company for both Mark and Petunia. While Mark was still looking to adopt another Border Collie, something about Jake’s picture kept him coming back to the IMHS website over and over. When the video of Jacob at the IMHS agility ring surfaced, his passing interest suddenly became real. Mark and his girlfriend went to a loca

IMHS Thrift Store Anniversary Sale!

From a beginning with just one room only 8 short years ago, our 2nd Chance Thrift Store has grown into a recognized staple within the community. There is so much to celebrate and share with our neighbors and friends. Without their generous support and patronage, and the numerous dedicated volunteers who keep our doors open, we would not be where we are today - providing an invaluable source of funds for the care and treatment of our animals. In celebration of all our successes, we are holding our 8 year anniversary sale on Saturday and Sunday, November 11th and 12th. All items inside the store will be 1/2 off the regular price. And, as a follow up, we will again offer all in store items 1/2
