Last Month for 50K in Matching Money!

Two of the original founding members of IMHS, MC and Greg Johnson, read our monthly newsletter (yay! It works! Thanks for reading this!) and saw the need for a new van and the dream for a new shelter. They contacted the board with the offer that they'll match dollar for dollar up to $50K! All we have to do to get $100K is to raise 50K! They are able to do this because they want to honor Greg's father who instilled his love for animals into Greg at a young age and bequeathed some funds to his son as part of his will. We thank MC, Greg and Greg's father for their commitment to animals and to their commitment to the animals and community surrounding IMHS. So, please help us by contributing to t

Volunteer and Community Appreciation Party on 10/15 - Join Us for Lunch!

The Board and Staff of IMHS will be cooking and serving in the IMHS parking lot on 10/15 so please join us from noon-2pm. Volunteers and Members are free and everyone else is just asked to make a donation. You can become a member at the event too. Members have benefits - come find out! There will be deals at the Second Chance Thrift Shop and we'll be selling other things to help benefit the shelter, such as t-shirts, reloadable grocery store cards, leashes, collars, and donated items from businesses. Also, come see the Capital Campaign thermometer rise, check out our new animal adoption van and see our new office! Good times!

Thrift Shop Kitty Finally Gets Her Second Chance

For any of you who frequent the IMHS Second Chance Thrift Shop, you’ve likely spent some time cuddling with the resident cats. The cats who are selected to stay at the thrift store until their forever home is found are very special. They are often cats who have been in the shelter for a while – but haven’t gotten much attention from potential adopters. Maybe they’ve gone 'down the hill' to one of our adoption partners and didn’t get snatched up there. In any case, these cats need to be very calm. Between continually opening and closing doors, and the wide variety of people handling them, it takes a very special personality to be eligible to reside at the Thrift Shop! Lyla, a 4-year-old chub

Business Partner of the Month: The Fairy Dust Mother

Jane Parker is a wonderful friend to our community. She understands the trials and tribulations of moving an office and has given IMHS a free 4 hour cleaning to help our weary staff and volunteers. Fairy Dust Mother is a local business which has home cleaners with openings in their schedules and are able to take new customers. They have a 3 hour minimum but to our IMHS members who are new customers, you'll receive the 4th hour free on the first visit! Please tell Jane that IMHS sent you!

Thank You, Darrel Bennett and Cathy Banks!

After almost seven years as the Second Chance Thrift Shop manager, Darrel Bennett has decided to retire from that position. Thankfully, he won't be leaving us behind. Darrel will continue to be the genius available to fix any items that need attention. Darrel, we so appreciate you! Welcome Cathy Banks, the newly minted manager! Cathy is no stranger to the Thrift Shop as she has been with the shop for almost 7 years as well and has a lot of insight into what it takes to keep the store running. The job is a busy one, encompassing sorting donations, staging merchandise, pricing, customer care, and volunteer scheduling. Cathy can always be found with a smile on her face. She knows that the lifeb

High Tech Video of IMHS Around Town

IMHS has been lucky to receive a donated TV and video service from TommTV. Local supporter Joshua Smith created a video about IMHS and donated the TV and components to be viewed in our new shelter office. It looks AWESOME! Come by the Volunteer and Community Appreciation Party on 10/15 and see this amazing new feature which will hopefully spread throughout the community and be shown on other TommTVs in the area if we get some sponsors.

Volunteer Corner

News and Information from the IMHS Volunteer Coordinator Volunteer Party! Come and let us feed you on 10/15, noon-2pm. The IMHS Shelter and Thrift Shop cannot live or even function on a daily basis without our wonderful volunteers. This year's Volunteer Appreciation party is 10/15 at the IMHS parking lot. Volunteers and Members get in free but others will be asked to make a donation. We'll be feeding you burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, some snacks, green chile for a side or topper and of course DESSERT! Through everyone's hard work recently we have been able to get a new van, move office and will soon start on our catroom! So, please come out and see all the new stuff. Board Members Neede
