Head out to the hoedown! 8/26 Cause4Paws

It is going to be a rootin' tootin' good time!

OK, I won't try to write like a sideshow barker from the Old West. But believe me, this is going to be the BEST Cause4Paws EVER.

We've always had fun in the past but this year will take the cake. We've revamped the whole thing. We made it a night time event. We made it a themed event. It is a HOEDOWN in a real working barn, thanks to our great volunteers and hosts Bob and Karen Burden. We got rid of the silent auction stuff so you could focus on the party. We added ticket sales to boost the money coming in. We've got a feel good country-western band, the Rowdy Country Combo, playing for us. We've expanded our wine pull to have more wine and added a growler pull too. And Mad Jack's Mountain Brewery is providing a keg for the event. We've got carnival type games for the whole family. Fun to play but also with an anonymous donor the games will actually RAISE money for the shelter if you win! Scooters BBQ is providing grub for both purchase (made to order) and on the buffet for the tykes. We've added a 50/50 raffle which means that the winners of the pot go half to the shelter and half to the winner. We'll have dancing, hopefully both line and square. We've got a dog agility demo too.

And for the first time we've got sponsors too. We'll have a full list of the sponsors at the barn as well as publish here next month. So, what now? Buy your tickets! You can buy at the shelter or you can buy online at our website. Then go and get your finest boots and hats and get spiffied up for this end of summer blowout to raise $$$$ for IMHS. Bedazzle those jeans and be a rhinestone cowboy/gal. (If you need to buy some new duds, try our Thrift Store first then please know if you show your C4P tickets at Big R in Conifer you'll get 10% off all apparel.) **note: duds and spiffied up are apparently not Old West slang: http://www.legendsofamerica.com/we-slang.html Who knew?! Please know that you'll want to bring cash for all of the events listed above--cash was king in the old west--no cards please!
