Intermountain Humane Society is located in Pine Junction, Colorado (about 30 miles southwest of Denver) along U.S. Highway 285.  IMHS is a volunteer organization, providing temporary care for stray or unwanted pets for two decades.  While we do not have a shelter, we utilize individual foster homes to house our pets awaiting adoption.   Each Saturday, we host adoption displays from 9am to 3pm, to allow the public to meet and adopt these pets.   These displays are held at our office in Pine Junction, located in the rear of the log building next to the Woodside Inn. Since our founding in 1982, we have found new homes for over 4000 dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, ferrets and goats.  IMHS does not perform euthanasia without compelling reasons and finds homes for all adoptable animals who come into our program.  In some cases, IMHS will perform euthanasia where necessitated by severe medical problems, greatly advanced age or serious behavioral problems (particularly aggression).  IMHS is always in need of volunteers, financial support and donations of supplies.  Click here to find out more about IMHS volunteer and donation needs.
