Fund raising is always an important part of non-profit
organizations. Sometimes it involves hard work and long hours, but without
our fund raising efforts combined with grants from some very important and
helpful foundations, we could not continue our efforts. We have several
important fund raising events planned for this year and we always need
volunteers to help plan and staff the events. This year's fund raising
events will include:

Office Expansion and Veterinary Service Program Facility Campaign:
We are expanding our office into the adjacent
unit, adding 700 square feet to become our new adoptions center. This
space will serve for our Saturday morning adoption displays for dogs and will
provide room for our business office as well. Our current offices will
then be converted into our veterinary facility and an adoption area for cats
where we can also house a small number of cats when we don't have adequate
numbers of foster homes. IMHS will share the veterinary facility with
Peak Veterinary Service, a mobile equine practice, allowing much of the
laboratory equipment and some other equipment, thus reducing costs to IMHS.
This also allow IMHS Executive Director, Dr. Kevin Dennison, to work part-time
with both organizations without having to change locations. In all, this
makes for a very efficient use of Dr. Dennison's time. IMHS will have
over 1100 square feet with which to assist homeless and unwanted pets in our
community. IMHS is currently conducting a campaign to raise funds for
the ongoing construction of this facility. We will commemorate this
facility with a permanent dedication marker placed in the adoption center in
public view. This marker will list all contributors of $100 or more in
funds or "in-kind" contributions toward construction, office equipment,
veterinary equipment and initial inventory of veterinary supplies. This
marker will remain on-site for as long as the facility is in use and will
provide excellent recognition for business supporters. Please call
303-838-2668 for more information or mail your contribution to IMHS, P.O. Box
1250, Conifer, CO 80433. Please indicate that your contribution is
for the Adoption Center/VSP Fund.
