The IMHS Sterilization Assistance Voucher Program (SAVP) is designed to assist those in financial need in arranging for sterilization assistance through local veterinarians. The program is open to all residents of Park County and the mountain areas of Jefferson County, although we can arrange services for individuals in need for other mountain communities as well. IMHS will provide vouchers for specific animals in specific families. Vouchers are non-transferable and non-redeemable for any other purpose.
Voucher value ranges from $40 to $100 depending on species and procedure. The voucher can be applied to sterilization surgery and anesthesia costs, but not for any other care (such as vaccinations, dewclaw removal, declawing cats, dental care, blood tests or general veterinary care). All follow-up care, vaccinations or other treatments are the sole financial responsibility of the owner.
Applications must be received by December 30, 2003 in order to be evaluated. |
Qualification:
Low Income including seniors on low-fixed income
Unemployment | |
Financial Stress secondary to significant medical bills
Other situations where significant financial problems prohibit the family’s ability to otherwise afford sterilization |
Stray animals should be processed through Intermountain Humane Society’s adoption program and not through the voucher program.
