Serving Colorado's Park and Southwestern Jefferson Counties

Intermountain Humane Society serves the "Highway 285 Corridor Communities" from South Turkey Creek Canyon to Kenosah Pass.  This comprises much of Park County and Southwestern Jefferson County.

IMHS immediate goals are to provide our current services more effectively than ever.  These services include pet adoptions, rescue of stray or unwanted pets, lost and found referral services, humane education and spay-neuter services in cases of financial need.  As always in volunteer driven organizations, people are our most valuable resource.  If you would like to volunteer (click her for more information) or would like to support us financially, please call 303-838-2668 or email us at [email protected].

Our long term goals are quite ambitious, but our community needs are becoming very intense!  Park County has decided to retire their current facility within a few years (it is grossly inadequate), in order to use the land for sheriff department and other desperately needed offices.   This means that the current animal control facility needs to be rebuilt elsewhere or that Park County Animal Control needs to contract with an animal facility for housing their impounded animals.  Currently there are no facilities of that nature in Park County or southwestern Jefferson County.  IMHS is currently discussing possible solutions with representatives of both county animal control agencies as well as other animal welfare groups.  We hope to be able to provide community leadership in solving this issue.  If you are interested in supporting these efforts, we need leadership (community leaders for our Board of Directors), volunteers (for animal service programs as well as fund raising) and financial supporters.
