Our costs vary considerably for each individual pet in our care, but generally range from $100 to $300 or more for each animal. In addition, we are expecting well over 400 animals to pass through our hands this year, making our financial burdens considerable indeed. In addition to veterinary costs, we have the costs of maintaining foster homes, our display center/office rent & upkeep, spay-neuter programs, web fees and other expenses. Our funding comes exclusively from the public and not from any government agency. In fact, we actually subsidize Park County by paying for veterinary care and providing adoptions services for many of their impounded animals..
IMHS receives no governmental funding whatsoever. We rely solely on the public for our existence. Examples of what your money can do with IMHS include:
| $1000 will equip a foster home with a 8x16 foot portable dog kennel &dog house and feed all the dogs using this kennel for one year. | |
| $1000 will pay for IMHS's rent and utilities for one month at our business office and adoption center. | |
| $300 will equip a foster home for housing a litter of kittens or two cats and provide food and litter for that foster home for one year. | |
| $250 will cover the additional expenses of an older dog that needs blood tests to assess the dog's health, dental work on neglected teeth and spaying or neutering prior to adoption. | |
| $150 will cover the additional expenses of older cats that need blood tests, dental work and sterilization prior to adoption. | |
| $100 will cover the cost of testing, spaying and vaccinating a feral (wild) cat prior to re-releasing in back into its home (typically a barn or kindly caregiver's property). Note: We only catch and release feral cats if someone will commit to caring for them.) | |
| $50 will cover the expenses not provided for in adoption fees for healthy pets that need examinations, deworming, vaccinations and sterilization prior to adoption. | |
| $25 provides membership in IMHS for an individual and $40 provides membership for two members of the family. Every animal has value and every donation counts. Please print out the following form or simple send a check to IMHS, P.O. Box 1250, Conifer, CO 80433. |
