IMHS provides veterinary care and foster homes for injured or ill stray pets. We have a group of caring veterinary hospitals which work with us to provide this care. IMHS has also provided care for injured wildlife. If you find an injured stray, please report it to IMHS as soon as possible. If the office is closed, please contact a local veterinarian to arrange treatment. IMHS will commit to covering the bill up to $100 with a local veterinarian (we assume a 50% discount from the veterinarian). Higher amounts need to be authorized through the IMHS President or Board. If the owner is found, they will be responsible for 100% of the bill to the veterinarian prior to discharge. Wildlife cases must be release by the veterinarian or transferred to a licensed rehabilitator. Wildlife cannot be returned to the finder, as this violates state law. |
