We get quite a few senior pets into our system. We try to
screen them as much as possible, but they are older pets and can have or develop
problems that can become serious. Many of these pets have had blood-tests,
dental work and other surgical or medical treatments. Senior pets have
some distinct advantages, however, including calm dispositions, better training,
they are less likely to be destructive (compared to young pets) and they are
generally very affectionate. Special
needs pets may be pets with medical or behavioral issues that may need
additional commitment on the part of the new family.

Monty
|
Monty is an old boy. The removal of some teeth has given him soft food
opportunity, he likes that! He is quiet and keeps to himself and just needs a
kind, peaceful home with generous doses of lovin'.

Muffin
|
Muffin's story is an interesting one. Apparently, she was fed mostly milk and tuna
fish which caused her to become malnourished yet overweight! She is very
gentle but still doesn't quite like to be held yet. She would do well in a
quiet home without dogs and a family that could exercise her. The exercise
is easy and the Staff here would be happy to demonstrate and explain it. So
far, as long as they don't trouble her, she does very well with other cats.
