New Event--Trails for Tails Hike-a-thon!

NEW EVENT!! Come Hike for IMHS!

Love hiking? Love supporting IMHS? Then have we got the event for YOU! On Sunday, July 23rd IMHS will host the first annual Trails for Tails Hike-a-Thon at Staunton State Park. Participants of this family-friendly community event will raise money for their hike online and then join us at our neighborhood State Park for a day of fun!

IMHS has set a goal of raising $10,000 for this event and we need everyone’s help getting there! To participate online: create your personal fundraising page and ask your friends and family to sponsor your hike. You also have the option of raising offline donations and then logging them in your personal fundraising page (this is a great way for kids to get involved!). By joining the Trails for Tails team and asking for donations from your friends and family, YOU contribute directly to the $10,000 goal.

Join us on July 23rd to hike at Staunton State Park! There are miles of trails at Staunton suitable for any skill level. Staunton is one of my very favorite places to hike. My husky, Leica, and I enjoy the Davies Pond loop. This short 2 mile hike is flat so it’s nice and easy for Leica since she is 11 now and can only handle short hikes. When I am on my own, I like to hike out to the Elk Falls overlook. It is a great all day hike with amazing views. Aside from hiking, On July 23rd, IMHS has rented out the Group Picnic Area. There, we will have food and drinks for suggested donation, activities, IMHS gear for suggested donation and adoptable dogs! It is sure to be a great time! We can’t wait to see you there!
