Pine Junction, Colorado

Intermountain Humane Society of Pine Junction, Colorado

Business Partners

Intermountain Humane Society is grateful to the following local businesses who have donated their time, talent and services to IMHS over the past several months:

TJ's Wood Products

62160 Highway 285, Bailey CO 80421, 303-838-5779, 1-800-530-0275, www.tjswood.com

TJ's beautiful wood products are milled from top quality Colorado timber. Lucky for IMHS, one of the by-products of the milling process is just-as-beautiful wood shavings. TJ's Wood Products generously donated and delivered a trailer-full of wood chips to the IMHS shelter. As we wrote in our thank-you to these neighbors, "the wood chips will provide a comfortable, safe and sanitary environment for our dogs when they spend time in the shelter's outdoor kennels. We know they would say 'thank you', too, if they could!."

O’Malley’s  Mountain Auto

22 Roland Valley Drive, Bailey CO 80421, 303-816-0754

O’Malley’s has donated time and materials to work on the IMHS van.  We log between 150 and 200 miles each week transporting our pets to and from  other shelters,  vet clinic visits and Petsmart and Petco adoption centers.   O’Malley’s generosity helps us to keep our van in good shape so we can safely care for our pets and reach beyond our shelter to help them find their forever homes.

Jennifer Grimm, DVM, MS, DACVR

22020 E Arbor Dr, Aurora CO 80016, 720-206-4340, grimmdvm@yahoo.com

Dr. Grimm recently conducted an ultras-sound, pro-bono, on one of our resident pets.  Her kind donation of such special services helped us  to diagnose and successfully treat this pet, sending her down the road to recovery and a new home!

Special Thanks

Two community news and discussion websites provide IMHS invaluable assistance in spreading the word about our activities and soliciting much-needed donations. We are pleased to be listed as a community agency on Pinecam; we're grateful for the support and donations of time, talent and money many Pinecammers have given to IMHS over the years, including the current Pet of the Month contest in which all entry fees are donated to IMHS.

IMHS is also featured on 285bound.com where we have our own forum (under the Pets, Animals) tab. We thank the readers of 285bound for their support of our work. IMHS is honored to be the beneficiary of 285bound's 2011 picnic.

Other business partners have supported IMHS by donating their special merchandise to IMHS to sell in our Second Chance Thrift Shop and at various fundraisers throughout the year:

Kel Stone of Cowichan Embroidery Company donated 200 beautifully embroidered tee-shirts that were sold in IMHS’s Second Chance Thrift Shop.

Sande Womack of New Era Sales donated holiday décor items and housewares.  Some of these items were sold at the Second Chance Thrift Shop; the more high-end items were auctioned off at the IMHS Silent Auction.

John Adams owns Adams Brokerage.  He donated a food dehydrator and an attractive table runner among other items, all of which went to the highest bidders at the IMHS Silent Auction in October 2010.

Another business that has been supporting IMHS for the past several months is the Go Paint! Studio in downtown Evergreen, Colorado. Owner Lisa Wood has been very generous to provide supplies and support for our PET BOWL PROJECT. To learn more about everything that owner Lisa Wood has to offer the painting public, go to www.gopaintfun.com.

Intermountain Humane Society also works closely with professional petcare organizations whose generous support enables us to care for and find homes for hundreds of pets each year:

PetSmart Charities, Inc. is the non-profit arm of the national chain that runs the PetSmart Adoption Centers. IMHS has been displaying adoptable pets at PetSmart since 2008.

Inspired by our successful relationship with PetSmart, in late 2010 IMHS began a similar partnership with the Petco chain in one of their metro Denver stores.

IMHS is an active member of the Metro Denver Shelter Alliance.  This coalition of more than 25 public and private shelters, rescues and other animal service providers is committed to saving pets and fostering responsible pet ownership. Through collaboration, education, advocacy and resource sharing, MDSA provides its members access to the highest standards of animal welfare industry protocol.

SPAY TODAY FOR A BETTER TOMORROW.  For almost two years IMHS has worked with Spay Today to ensure that all the animals that come through our shelter system are spayed and neutered.  Located in Lakewood, Colorado, this non-profit clinic is dedicated to preventing pet overpopulation by providing high-quality, low-cost  spay and neuter surgeries for cats, dogs and rabbits.
